CHILDHOOD ADVENTURES IN THE CITY

Still in London Town and today went to Spitalfields Market and the surrounding area. Been wanting to go there for a while because it sounds so adventurous in a calm way. Thursday means Antiques and Vintage Day and the ambiance, whilst full and bustling with people, is rather laid-back. The shopping experience that is undoubtedly necessary. I ended up only buying a couple of 1950's - 1970's cameras which came to a total of £22, not too bad, yet was hoping to purchase some items of clothing like a coat or jumper. No luck though but heyho, there's always Rokit in Covent Gardens tomorrow - popping to Chinatown again to get my mum's oriental vegetables that she sneaks back to Jersey and my asian snacks that I adore. Anyways, just some pictures of city adventures including Spitalfields Market/Bricklane/Camera Purchases

Aching Feet for Pleasure?

Today my mum and I treated our feets to a battering at Westfield Shopping Centre. The night before I was told that it takes an hour without stopping to walk from one end to another without stopping in shops, which made me kind of daunted. Anyways when we got there, we literally just followed the crowds (didn't know where we were going) and ended up in the main section which is a high street galore. H&M, River Island, GAP, Topshop/Topman, Hollister, Pull and Bear, Next, M&S ect. Unfortunately there was no Urban Outfitters. Nonetheless, I ended up buying a few bits and bobs which I was rather glad about, however didn't succeed  in my shorts-for-summer findings. On the contrary, even though I'm usually a shirt buyer from charity shops, I HAD to get this burgundy chord shirt. Love at first sight, must be said.
Enough of my chit-chat, hope y'all are having a great half term!

PEACE OUT

WE LOVE THE SMELL OF RECYCLED CLOTHES

Just a few items of clothing I found on the ASOS Marketplace and Rokit which I both absolutely love, yet it is rather expensive. This doesn't stop me observing the beauty of all things vintage and maybe saving up for something? I think so.

some summer plimsolls which I shall be soon purchasing - £8.33 ex. VAT - bargain heaven

fond of this Levi's Denim Jacket especially the two prints at the chest - Billy Ray Cyrus signed as well
which is kind of cool even though it's Miley Cyrus' father

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Watched one of my all time favorite films, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, again today and thought that it would be suitable to be the title of this post. It's certainly one of Jim Carrey's most respected films and Kate Winslet as the co-star, the film provides double trouble, in an unforgettable way.
Joel: 'Sand is overrated. It's just tiny, little rocks.'
Anyways, onto what I'm really blogging about:
I got my second batch of Diana Mini photos developed yesterday and I was rather pleased with the results.
Also, when I got home after a nice trip to town, I was able to use the 35mm film that the film developers gave back to me to complete a little project of mine. Someone on Lomography blogged about what they did with their old film and it inspired me to do the same so I ended up producing 'SAVE THE FILM' in letters on my wall.

pretty happy

Also took a lookbook picture yesterday in front of my wall with the finished project - the title says it all.

Take me back to the 90's

working on my collection

i love a grainy picture + fell in love with these glasses, to bad they're actually lensed

banana loaf/cake/bread - whatever floats your boat
trying to be artistically minded - didn't work too well and concerning the quote, quickly searched for a semi-ok quote before the mist went, yet it fits well with the whole concept?

Just a general evening in this household, though this evening was one where I was taken back to my childhood days. I searched through my parents cupboards where they literally throw in any old junk, yet like to keep it organised and tidy. Ended up finding these amazing 35mm cameras and stumbled across my dad's old glasses which are really from the 60s/70s though he still wore them when i was a wee kid. My mum also made banana loaf and when I entered the front door from a rather relaxing walk home, the smell of freshly baked and warm sensation of it was truly amazing.

Have been dyeing to put these up but completely forgot to blog about them.
I received a wonderful Diana Mini 35mm film camera from my sister at Christmas and these are the first batch of photos I got developed. I ended up getting them for free because they didn't print properly but now that I've scanned and cropped them I completely fell in love with them. Made a promise to myself that I will use my Diana Mini more often. Hope that you're enjoying them!

We Live Young

Funeral Party - Golden Age of Knowhere has received a lot of hype since it's release two weeks or so ago, but a truly worthy hype. The song Finale makes your feet/legs/arms want to get up and dance to it and that's what I've been doing since I first heard it. It just doesn't get old, a little like how at the moment I'm rather appreciating being a teenager on this Island. My daydreams consist of how life will be so much better when I'm at Uni on the mainland and into my twenties compared to being confined to such a small space here and surrounded by literally just chavs - no doubting it's a 'chav-town' here. However this song gets me dancing in the privacy of my own bedroom and the occasional outing, and it just makes me feel good to be a teenager for once. We should just enjoy being the age we are at.
So I leave you be with this genius masterpiece in general - the video accompanies the music perfectly.

Prosperity, Luck & Happiness

A day before Chinese New Year Day

Chinatown, Singapore

Year of the Rabbit parade

It's soon approaching Chinese New Year - 3rd February - and the whole of Asia will be celebrating tomorrow. It's not that often that I get to really appreciate and get involved in my Asian, Thai to be specific, heritage any more. I used to do a lot back in the day when I was still a kid-o but now, quickly coming up to my 17th Birthday (still 10 months left but months always tend to rush by) and having lived on this island all my life, I'm beginning to become more English than anything. Thus I thought, let's celebrate the New Year the good ole' Asian way...

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
新年快樂
